In Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, producer Yoshinori Kitase confirmed that the player will be able to dress Lightning is as little as 80 different costumes and outfits. One of them is the female Miqo’te outfit from Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

In response, FFXIV’s director and producer Naoki Yoshida said that he would like to somehow incorporate a bit of Lightning Returns in A Realm Reborn.

Director Motomu Toriyama also confirmed on Square Enix’s E3 live stream that players with FFXIII and FFXIII-2 save files on their consoles will be able to dress Lightning in her original Guardian Corps uniform and her valkyrie armor.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will be available for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 11, 2014 and in Europe on February 14, 2014.
